Lydia Lunch revient en Suisse pour continuer son idée du partage avec l’écrivain chaux-de-fonnier Dejan Gacond. Une expérience artistique, poétique et amicale ayant débutée en 2013 à travers les installations A KALEIDOSCOPE OF NOTHINGNESS. Un univers dans lequel Lydia Lunch a joué 13 fois. Pour cette soirée, Lydia et Dejan invitent le talentueux performeur et musicien Vinny ILL (Vincent Dubuis) à les rejoindre.

Lydia Lunch; son verbe incisif, sa voix puissante, enragée, dérangeante, fouillant dans les tréfonds des âmes depuis quatre décennies. Une poésie réveillant, parcourant les zones indistinctes de nos individualités prétendument définies. Quatre décennies de musique et de poésie dédiées à la recherche d’une extase révolutionnaire ou d’une révolution par le plaisir. Quatre décennies à donner la parole aux corps marginalisés. Un cri de ralliement en cette ère d’attaque constante contre les corps des femmes et des minorités. Sa performance DUST’N SHADOWS explore certaines obsessions sexuelles dérangeantes, relate des romances déviantes et se souvient de la mort prématurée d’êtres aimés. Lydia Lunch incarne différentes voix pour percuter nos sensations tout en réactivant la puissance féminine comme énergie suprême.

Dejan Gacond est un écrivain qui vit et travaille à La Chaux-de-Fonds. Il partage ses mots dans des installations immersives, dans des livres, mais aussi sur scène, à travers des projets musicaux et théâtraux. Depuis une quinzaine d’années, il cocréé avec l’artiste new- yorkais Kit Brown les installations A KALEIDOSCOPE OF NOTHINGNESS. Habitué des scènes musicales, il collabore avec de nombreux artistes et musiciens, dont l’icône underground Lydia Lunch, la cinéaste Beth B ou le groupe mythique And Also The Trees. Sa performance PROCHAIN METRO DIRECTION NULLE PART est une quête sans but dans les dédales des villes du XXIème siècle. Des monstres remplis d’automates, d’électricité, de lumières, de bruits, de mouvements devenus régulés, normés et contrôlés.

Vinny ILL est un musicien, compositeur et performeur, explorant les friches sonores et les rythmes imprévisibles. Entre geste brut et immersion sonore, il déploie des paysages où l’étrange se fait familier. Dans PULSE ! il explore un espace sonore où le rythme naît d’une pulsation intime, presque primitive, créant un flux irrégulier et vivant. Sa performance oscille entre riffs de guitare, boucles hypnotiques et moments de silence qui s’étirent et se resserent.

Silent Green presents : 

With Now Wave: Beth B – Glowing silent green is dedicating an extensive exhibition, and retrospective to the US-American artist – including numerous world premieres.

The artist and filmmaker Beth B has been creating transgressive and transformative work for over 40 years. Beth B (born 1955) began her artistic work in the late 1970s in the No Wave scene, a New York underground movement whose name ironically refers to New Wave pop culture. In this context, female musicians and visual artists confronted popular forms with avant-garde anti-art. Throughout her prolific career, B has produced over 30 films within the documentary, experimental, and narrative genres and continues to return to her interdisciplinary works. Collaboration with other artists is an essential aspect of her work, for example in her film portraits of Lydia Lunch and Ida Applebroog.

In the exhibition, B has developed provocative and innovative approaches to challenge societal conventions, embracing the underdog, and focusing on the human condition. Based on writings and music of individual artists, Now Wave: Beth B – Glowing plumbs the eternal search for connection, our perception of the body and its physical mutation, gender (mis)representation, patriarchal power, self-determination from a feminist perspective, and the trauma of war.

The centerpiece of the exhibition in the Betonhalle is Glowing, a three-channel video installation and music event with artists who will perform their stories onstage simultaneous to live music and multiple projections of the Glowing films. Director Beth B creates a cinematic experiential landscape for the universal stories of artists Nick Flynn, Little Annie, No Anger, Vincent Dubuis, Robert O. Leaver, and Evelyn Frantti Glowing confronts perceptions and assumptions concerning heartache, disability, mental illness, and addiction alongside the visceral music by Jim Coleman and accompanied by Vincent Dubuis, Robert O. Leaver, and Phil Puleo.

Alongside other works, the sound and video installation Near Death, a collaboration between Beth B and Jim Coleman, has been specifically designed for the Betonhalle of the former crematorium at silent green.

As part of the retrospective The War Is Never Over, numerous films by Beth B from the late 1970s to the present day will also be shown in the Kuppelhalle of silent green, accompanied by conversations with the filmmaker and live performances by Lydia Lunch, Nick Flynn, Robert O. Leaver, No Anger, Jim Coleman and Chris Spencer.
